Doug Groh is a Partner at CincyTech leading the investment process and engaging in investor relations within CincyTech's network. Doug focuses on startup companies in information technology, specifically business enterprise software.
"I embrace the journey of discovering what lies ahead when working to bring an innovation to life through investment. Each company and prospective investment is an opportunity to discover and learn about novel technical and business challenges that we help to solve."
Prior to joining CincyTech, he worked as an Investor and Partner at OhmartVEGA Corporation (Vega Americas) from 1994 to 2008 where he was the VP of Sales and Marketing. He helped lead the business until their 2008 exit to join venture partner, VEGA Grieshaber KG of Germany. In 2009 he served as the VP of Sales and Marketing at RS Solutions, where he was previously an investor, and remained through the sale of the company to WR Grace in late 2010.
Doug currently serves on the Board of Directors for ActionStreamer, Amify, Cordata, Navistone, ReadySet Surgical, Talmetrix, and Voxel Technologies. He was awarded Investor of the Year in 2012 by the Greater Cincinnati Venture Association. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.
"I enjoy getting out of my comfort zone when it comes to discovering new technologies in all areas from digital to life sciences that have the ability to have real impact - often changing lives for the better."
Doug likes staying busy with work and solving new challenges with first-time founders, but in his free time he enjoys reading, traveling to and taking a few swings at the golf course.
“I seek to work with founders who combine strong passion and strategic rationality, and are willing to work relentlessly to pursue their vision, but are able to learn from the market and make changes as needed."
