Kenneth (Kenny) Morand, Ph.D., is Life Sciences Partner at CincyTech where he focuses on deal sourcing and evaluation, including identifying and assessing potential investment opportunities in biotech, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, healthcare IT, and other life sciences fields.

Prior to becoming Life Sciences Partner, Kenny served as an Executive-in-Residence from 2018 - 2024 where he focused on strategic and technical guidance to portfolio companies and added diversity of perspective to the diligence process thanks to his wide range of roles prior to joining CincyTech.

“Working at CincyTech allows me to explore so much diversity - the diversity of people, their experiences, their expertise, and their cultures, to the diversity of opportunities.  I am able to experience something new and different every day of the week.”

Before Kenny became part of the CincyTech team in 2018, he spent 25 years with The Procter & Gamble Company and Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals serving in a number of R&D and New Business Creation leadership roles.  He has extensive experience in biotechnology, strategic planning and business development, and new business creation.  He is active in the regional life science and technology community providing commercialization and technical mentoring as a member of the NIH Centers for Accelerated Innovations at the Cleveland Clinic, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Commercialization Review Committee, University of Cincinnati Technology Accelerator Commercialization Committee, and the Ohio iCorp program sponsored by the NSF.

Kenny currently serves on the Board of Directors for SNO bio and Eikonoklastes Therapeutics.

He earned his B.S. in Chemistry at the Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry (Mass Spectrometry) at Purdue University and was a visiting scholar at European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg.

“I take a special interest in life science & biotechnology, and complex technology & system solutions - being able to be part of discovery and early-stage investment opportunities is always thrilling and challenging in the best ways.”

Kenny enjoys taking things to new heights with a passion for alpine climbing, mountaineering, skiing, mountain biking, backcountry camping, paddle boarding and kayaking. The outdoors are where he enjoys spending his down time with his family while trekking across the country and around the world.

“Develop a fervent passion for the problem and stay open to diverse solutions.”
