Kirk Ball is the EVP and CIO at Giant Eagle, Inc. Kirk oversees the delivery of cutting-edge Information Technology solutions essential to powering Giant Eagle's extensive operations, which include eCommerce development, strategic technology planning, and robust infrastructure and applications across the enterprise. His role also extends to the Giant Eagle Innovation Steering Team, where he plays a pivotal role in driving forward-thinking solution innovation initiatives.
Prior to joining Giant Eagle, Kirk served as the VP and CIO for The Christ Hospital Health Network (TCHHN). During his tenure, Kirk achieved significant milestones, including the implementation of disaster recovery solutions, the development of cloud and analytics strategies, and the formulation and execution of a comprehensive digital customer strategy. He also played a key role in shaping the organizational and technology strategies of TCHHN.
Before his tenure at TCHHN, Kirk held pivotal roles at The Kroger Company, including CTO. At Kroger, Kirk spearheaded the development of the company’s transformative Digital Customer Strategy, led enterprise technology solutions delivery across 3,000 U.S. locations, and served as COO of Sunrise Technology, a Kroger subsidiary focused on technology R&D and innovation. His tenure at Kroger also included leadership roles in strategic acquisitions and the development and execution of Kroger’s digital strategy.
Kirk’s extensive career in technology leadership spans roles at The Iams Company, Honda of America Mfg., The Berry Company, and Emro Marketing, where he consistently drove technological innovation and operational excellence.
Kirk holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting/Finance and an Associate’s degree in Systems Analysis and Design from Miami University. His commitment to advancing technology and business excellence is further reflected in his advisory roles, including serving on the Advisory Board for The Mercury Fund, Board of Directors for TrackX, Growth Advisory Board SILK, and membership in the Cincinnati CIO Roundtable.
