Paul Jenny is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, a nonprofit, comprehensive pediatric health system. As a leader in research and education, Cincinnati Children’s is ranked #1 in U.S News & World Report’s 2023-2024 list of best children’s hospitals in the nation and is one of the top recipients of pediatric research grants from the National Institutes of Health. As CFO, Paul has responsibility for the overall financial operating plan with current annual revenues of $3 billion and the $1.1 billion five-year capital plan. Additionally, Paul serves as the treasurer of the organization with over $6 billion in invested funds and a total balance sheet of $9 billion.
Prior to joining Cincinnati Children’s, Paul was the Senior Vice Chancellor for finance and administration at the University of California, San Francisco, with annual revenues of $8 billion. In addition, Paul was interim CFO and Executive Vice President of the University of California system for FY2020. In that role, he provided oversight for financial and capital management for the 10 UC campuses, five medical centers and the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.
Before joining UCSF, Paul served as the Senior Vice President of planning and management at the University of Washington, and as Associate Vice Chancellor of budget and resource planning at UC Berkeley. He has also held leadership positions at the University of Alaska and the Brookings Institution.
Paul earned a master’s degree in business administration from Loyola University New Orleans in 1999, and he received a Bachelor’s in economics from the University of Washington in 1992.
