Sean Kwiat

Sean is the Vice President, Investments at CincyTech, where he leads an investment team focused on technology and life sciences. A key member of the firm’s investment leadership, he is responsible for sourcing early-stage deal flow, building the portfolio, and driving fund returns through strategic management and exit opportunities.
Since joining CincyTech in 2015, Sean has been actively involved in more than 100 early-stage venture financings and has advised on several exit transactions. In his current role, he provides strategic guidance to portfolio companies on go-to-market strategies and product-market fit, while often serving as a Board Director or Observer to help founders navigate the "zero-to-one" phase of company building.
Leveraging his deep expertise in valuation and financial modeling from his time at EY, Sean works closely with the CEO and CFO to manage funds and drive continuous improvement in investor relations. He also ensures firm adherence to critical regulatory requirements, including Ohio’s SSBCI program.
“I am energized each morning to help support and learn from the top founders in our region who are building valuable companies on the foundation of world-class innovations.”
Prior to CincyTech, Sean served as a CPA at Ernst and Young LLP, focusing on audit and financial statement analysis for large SEC and private middle-market clients. He holds a deep commitment to the regional ecosystem, serving as the Membership Chair of VentureNext and on the Advisory Board at Alloy Growth Lab.
On the weekends and outside of work, you can find Sean cheering on FC Cincinnati with his wife or jamming out on the drums. At least once a day you’ll find him catching his breath from chasing around his gaggle of toddlers.
“I enjoy learning about the future of all things tech, whether SaaS, infrastructure, AI, or digital health.”
